Al Baqarah 91 - 100
Al Baqarah (Cow Girl)
91
ﻭَﺍِﺫَﺍ ﻗِﻴْﻞَ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﺍٰﻣِﻨُﻮْﺍ ﺑِﻤَﺎٓ ﺍَﻧْﺰَﻝَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻗَﺎﻟُﻮْﺍ
ﻧُﺆْﻣِﻦُ ﺑِﻤَﺎٓ ﺍُﻧْﺰِﻝَ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻭَﻳَﻜْﻔُﺮُﻭْﻥَ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﻭَﺭَﺍۤﺀَﻩٗ
ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺍﻟْﺤَﻖُّ ﻣُﺼَﺪِّﻗًﺎ ﻟِّﻤَﺎ ﻣَﻌَﻬُﻢْ ۗ ﻗُﻞْ ﻓَﻠِﻢَ
ﺗَﻘْﺘُﻠُﻮْﻥَ ﺍَﻧْۢﺒِﻴَﺎۤﺀَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻣِﻦْ ﻗَﺒْﻞُ ﺍِﻥْ ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ
ﻣُّﺆْﻣِﻨِﻴْﻦَ
wa iżā qīla lahum āminụ bimā anzalallāhu
qālụ nu`minu bimā unzila 'alainā wa
yakfurụna bimā warā`ahụ wa huwal-ḥaqqu
muṣaddiqal limā ma'ahum, qul fa lima
taqtulụna ambiyā`allāhi ming qablu ing
kuntum mu`minīn
And when it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah
has sent down (the Qur'an)," they say, "We believe
in what has been sent down to us." And they
disbelieve in that which was hereafter, when it is
the truth that justifies what is with them. Say (unto
them, O Muhammad): Why did ye kill the prophets
of Allah, if ye were believers?
92
۞ ﻭَﻟَﻘَﺪْ ﺟَﺎۤﺀَﻛُﻢْ ﻣُّﻮْﺳٰﻰ ﺑِﺎﻟْﺒَﻴِّﻨٰﺖِ ﺛُﻢَّ
ﺍﺗَّﺨَﺬْﺗُﻢُ ﺍﻟْﻌِﺠْﻞَ ﻣِﻦْۢ ﺑَﻌْﺪِﻩٖ ﻭَﺍَﻧْﺘُﻢْ ﻇٰﻠِﻤُﻮْﻥَ
wa laqad jā`akum mụsā bil-bayyināti
ṡummattakhażtumul-'ijla mim ba'dihī wa
antum ẓālimụn
And indeed, Moses has come to you with proofs of
the truth, then you took (the statue of) the calf (as
worship) after it (left), and you (became)
wrongdoers.
93
ﻭَﺍِﺫْ ﺍَﺧَﺬْﻧَﺎ ﻣِﻴْﺜَﺎﻗَﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﺭَﻓَﻌْﻨَﺎ ﻓَﻮْﻗَﻜُﻢُ ﺍﻟﻄُّﻮْﺭَۗ
ﺧُﺬُﻭْﺍ ﻣَﺎٓ ﺍٰﺗَﻴْﻨٰﻜُﻢْ ﺑِﻘُﻮَّﺓٍ ﻭَّﺍﺳْﻤَﻌُﻮْﺍ ۗ ﻗَﺎﻟُﻮْﺍ
ﺳَﻤِﻌْﻨَﺎ ﻭَﻋَﺼَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻭَﺍُﺷْﺮِﺑُﻮْﺍ ﻓِﻲْ ﻗُﻠُﻮْﺑِﻬِﻢُ
ﺍﻟْﻌِﺠْﻞَ ﺑِﻜُﻔْﺮِﻫِﻢْ ۗ ﻗُﻞْ ﺑِﺌْﺴَﻤَﺎ ﻳَﺄْﻣُﺮُﻛُﻢْ ﺑِﻪٖٓ
ﺍِﻳْﻤَﺎﻧُﻜُﻢْ ﺍِﻥْ ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﻣُّﺆْﻣِﻨِﻴْﻦَ
wa iż akhażnā mīṡāqakum wa rafa'nā
fauqakumuṭ-ṭụr, khużụ mā ātainākum
biquwwatiw wasma'ụ, qālụ sami'nā wa 'aṣainā
wa usyribụ fī qulụbihimul-'ijla bikufrihim, qul
bi`samā ya`murukum bihī īmānukum ing
kuntum mu`minīn
And (remember) when We took your promise and
raised the mountain (Sinai) above you (saying),
"Hold fast to what We have given you and listen!"
They replied, "We listen but we do not obey." And
the calf was planted in their hearts because of their
disbelief. Say, "Evil is what your faith enjoins upon
you if you are believers!"
94
ﻗُﻞْ ﺍِﻥْ ﻛَﺎﻧَﺖْ ﻟَﻜُﻢُ ﺍﻟﺪَّﺍﺭُ ﺍﻟْﺎٰﺧِﺮَﺓُ ﻋِﻨْﺪَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ
ﺧَﺎﻟِﺼَﺔً ﻣِّﻦْ ﺩُﻭْﻥِ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺱِ ﻓَﺘَﻤَﻨَّﻮُﺍ ﺍﻟْﻤَﻮْﺕَ ﺍِﻥْ
ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﺻٰﺪِﻗِﻴْﻦَ
qul ing kānat lakumud-dārul-ākhiratu
'indallāhi khāliṣatam min dụnin-nāsi fa
tamannawul-mauta ing kuntum ṣādiqīn
Say (Muhammad), "If the land of the Hereafter is in
the sight of Allah, only for you and not for others,
then ask for death if you are a righteous person."
95
ﻭَﻟَﻦْ ﻳَّﺘَﻤَﻨَّﻮْﻩُ ﺍَﺑَﺪًﺍۢ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﻗَﺪَّﻣَﺖْ ﺍَﻳْﺪِﻳْﻬِﻢْ ۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ
ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ ۢ ﺑِﺎﻟﻈّٰﻠِﻤِﻴْﻦَ
wa lay yatamannauhu abadam bimā
qaddamat aidīhim, wallāhu 'alīmum biẓ-
ẓālimīn
But they would not want that death at all, because
of the sins their hands had committed. And Allah is
Knowing of the wrongdoers.
96
ﻭَﻟَﺘَﺠِﺪَﻧَّﻬُﻢْ ﺍَﺣْﺮَﺹَ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺱِ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ
ﺣَﻴٰﻮﺓٍ ۛﻭَﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﺍَﺷْﺮَﻛُﻮْﺍ ۛﻳَﻮَﺩُّ ﺍَﺣَﺪُﻫُﻢْ ﻟَﻮْ
ﻳُﻌَﻤَّﺮُ ﺍَﻟْﻒَ ﺳَﻨَﺔٍۚ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻫُﻮَ ﺑِﻤُﺰَﺣْﺰِﺣِﻪٖ ﻣِﻦَ
ﺍﻟْﻌَﺬَﺍﺏِ ﺍَﻥْ ﻳُّﻌَﻤَّﺮَۗ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺑَﺼِﻴْﺮٌۢ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﻳَﻌْﻤَﻠُﻮْﻥَ
wa latajidannahum aḥraṣan-nāsi 'alā ḥayāh,
wa minallażīna asyrakụ yawaddu aḥaduhum
lau yu'ammaru alfa sanah, wa mā huwa
bimuzaḥziḥihī minal-'ażābi ay yu'ammar,
wallāhu baṣīrum bimā ya'malụn
And indeed, you (Muhammad) will find them (the
Jews), the most greedy of people for life (the
world), even (more greedy) than the polytheists.
Each of them, wants to be given a thousand years
of life, but this long life will not keep them from
doom. And Allah is All-Seeing of what they do.
97
ﻗُﻞْ ﻣَﻦْ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻋَﺪُﻭًّﺍ ﻟِّﺠِﺒْﺮِﻳْﻞَ ﻓَﺎِﻧَّﻪٗ ﻧَﺰَّﻟَﻪٗ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ
ﻗَﻠْﺒِﻚَ ﺑِﺎِﺫْﻥِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻣُﺼَﺪِّﻗًﺎ ﻟِّﻤَﺎ ﺑَﻴْﻦَ ﻳَﺪَﻳْﻪِ
ﻭَﻫُﺪًﻯ ﻭَّﺑُﺸْﺮٰﻯ ﻟِﻠْﻤُﺆْﻣِﻨِﻴْﻦَ
qul mang kāna 'aduwwal lijibrīla fa innahụ
nazzalahụ 'alā qalbika bi`iżnillāhi muṣaddiqal
limā baina yadaihi wa hudaw wa busyrā lil-
mu`minīn
Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Whosoever is an
enemy to Gabriel, then (know) that it is He Who
hath sent down (the Qur'an) into thy hearts by
Allah's leave, confirming what was before it, and a
guidance and glad tidings. for the believers. ”
98
ﻣَﻦْ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻋَﺪُﻭًّﺍ ﻟِّﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﻣَﻠٰۤﻯِٕﻜَﺘِﻪٖ ﻭَﺭُﺳُﻠِﻪٖ
ﻭَﺟِﺒْﺮِﻳْﻞَ ﻭَﻣِﻴْﻜٰﻯﻞَ ﻓَﺎِﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻋَﺪُﻭٌّ ﻟِّﻠْﻜٰﻔِﺮِﻳْﻦَ
mang kāna 'aduwwal lillāhi wa malā`ikatihī
wa rusulihī wa jibrīla wa mīkāla fa innallāha
'aduwwul lil-kāfirīn
Whoever becomes an enemy of Allah, His angels,
His messengers, Gabriel and Michael, then indeed
Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers.
99
ﻭَﻟَﻘَﺪْ ﺍَﻧْﺰَﻟْﻨَﺎٓ ﺍِﻟَﻴْﻚَ ﺍٰﻳٰﺖٍۢ ﺑَﻴِّﻨٰﺖٍۚ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻳَﻜْﻔُﺮُ ﺑِﻬَﺎٓ
ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﺍﻟْﻔٰﺴِﻘُﻮْﻥَ
wa laqad anzalnā ilaika āyātim bayyināt, wa
mā yakfuru bihā illal-fāsiqụn
And verily We have sent down unto thee clear
Signs (Muhammad), and none doth deny them
save the transgressors.
100
ﺍَﻭَﻛُﻠَّﻤَﺎ ﻋٰﻬَﺪُﻭْﺍ ﻋَﻬْﺪًﺍ ﻧَّﺒَﺬَﻩٗ ﻓَﺮِﻳْﻖٌ ﻣِّﻨْﻬُﻢْ ۗ ﺑَﻞْ
ﺍَﻛْﺜَﺮُﻫُﻢْ ﻟَﺎ ﻳُﺆْﻣِﻨُﻮْﻥَ
a wa kullamā 'āhadụ 'ahdan nabażahụ
farīqum min-hum, bal akṡaruhum lā
yu`minụn
And why is it that every time they make a promise,
a bunch of them break it? While most of them do
not believe.
